Information
Solid Waste collection
day is Friday, with the exception of major holidays that fall on weekdays (New Years Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day). When major holidays fall on a weekday, the collection day is put off one day to Saturday. Should a major holiday fall on a weekend day, the collection day remains Friday. Watch for the
Holiday collection schedule periodically printed in the Town Newsletter. See listing of
acceptable items for collection (Solid Waste Disposal ).
Recycling is
collected every other week (Recyclable
Items). Recycling bins are
available from the Town Clerk- 926-4618, extension 1.
Residents who miss curbside collection of recyclables can bring their
recyclables to the Brush Dump (April through October) for disposal in
the container marked for this purpose on Saturdays 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Please place containers at the curb before 6
a.m. on Friday for collection.

2012 Household Hazardous Waste Collection Days
White Goods and Bulky Items
Cleanup of white goods and bulky items is held twice a
year; once in the spring (June) and once in the fall (October), from
8:00 am to 2:00 pm at the Hampton Falls Brush Dump, at the corner
of Drinkwater and Parsonage Roads. There are fees for disposal of certain
items. Please note that fees are subject to change.
Only residents with dump stickers are
permitted to participate in the spring and fall cleanup program. New dump stickers
can be purchased at the Town Clerk's Office for a cost of $10 per sticker.
The Town Clerk's office is open Monday, 8:30 am- Noon, 1 pm-4 pm. Tuesday
and Thursday, 8:30 am-Noon and 1 pm-4 pm; Friday, (Sept-May) 9 am-Noon.
Stickers will also be available for purchase at the Brush Dump on the
cleanup days.
"White Goods" are appliances,
such as refrigerators, washing machines, hot water heaters,dryers,
etc.
"Electronics Recycling" A
container is available for the recycling of electronics at a fee of $5 per
item. Items acceptable for recycling include: Computers, fax machines,
scanners, keyboards and mice, mainframes, VCR/DVD players, stereos,
monitors, printers, telecommunications equipment, speakers, wire, and
televisions up to 36" in size.
"Bulky Items" include large
items, such as sofas, chairs, rugs, air conditioners, mattresses.
Stumps and hazardous household waste are
not allowed at the brush dump. NO BRUSH IS ACCEPTED ON WHITE GOODS
DAYS.
The Town Policy regarding the disposal
of tires at the brush dump is as follows:

Only tires of 16" rim size or less will be accepted.
-
Each family will be allowed to deposit no more than 8
tires.

No commercial tires will be allowed.

$2.00 for each unmonted tire (tires mounted on
rims are not accepted)
There is a $25 fee for disposal of freon
and there is a $5 fee to dispose of 5, 10, and 20-pound propane tanks and
a $20 fee to dispose of 30, 40, or 100 pound tanks.
The Household Hazardous Waste Collection
Day sponsored by the Southeast Regional Refuse Disposl District 53-B is
held at the Hampton Old Town Hall parking lot in May from 9 am
to Noon. A listing of what is acceptable/not acceptable at this
collection is available at the Town Hall. Computer monitors and
televisions will be accepted. There is a charge to dispose of certain
items.
Items NOT allowed include, but are
not limited to: antifreeze, car batteries, fluorescent lamps, hypodermic
needles, dirt or soils, treated wood, railroad ties, paint, oil, gasoline,
asbestos, 55-gallon drums, smoke detectors, and animal carcasses and
feces.
The Brush Dump, located at the corner of
Drinkwater and Parsonage Roads, is open every Saturday from April 1 through November 30, except the Fourth
of July weekend, from 8 am to 2 pm (except on
Spring and Fall Cleanup Days) to accept the following
items:
- Brush, grass and leaves ONLY.
- Brush up to 5" in diameter.
- NO metal (nails, fencing, etc.) allowed. These items cause
damage to the chipper.
- NO building material (studs, boards, etc.)
- Dispose of brush in the designated area. Align cut ends to
expedite chipping.
- Dispose of leaves and grasses in separate designated area.
Used Oil Collection
Rules for the Disposal of Used Petroleum Oil
at the Hampton Falls Brush Dump
- Only Residents of Hampton Falls may participate in this program.
- Residents must call 926-5752 for an appointment Monday- Thursday
before delivering the used oil.
- Used oil must be brought in clear containers, no larger than 5
gallons.
- Residents must identify their name and phone number on the
container. (Stickers will be provided).
- The town appointed agent will inspect the used oil before
accepting it for disposal.
