Executive Summary of Most Recent  Planning Board Meeting
The Planning Board thought it might be of interest to fellow residents to provide a recap of their meeting on February 27,2024, without having to read the whole minutes. The applicant was Unitil who came before the Planning Board for their annual Scenic Road Alteration Permit to get permission to do pruning & some tree removal on a few Scenic Roads in town. The Planning Board takes what happens on Scenic Roads in town very seriously. It is important to preserve the natural beauty of trees and stone walls seen everywhere throughout town as can be seen traveling town roads. There's a lot of history along the roads. The Planning Board does not want to see huge clear cutting along the Town's roads, that's why some roads have been designated as scenic to protect and enhance the community. There are specific regulations as to pruning trees which are: 6' within transmission lines, to remove diseased and hazard trees which are larger than 15" inches in circumference and taller than 4', the applicant must get permission from the Planning Board. By having these rules the Planning Board feels it really helps to protect the rural character & charm of Hampton Falls. The result of the most recent Planning Board meeting is only 3 trees will be removed on Old Stage Road and on Towle Farm Road. Part of Brown Road will only be getting pruning. And that is what was happening at the Planning Board's February 27, 2024 meeting.

Description and Duties
The Planning Board’s duties include reviewing requests for subdivision, site plan, wetland special use crossings, and scenic road alteration permits.

The Planning Board consists of seven (7) elected members, which includes one Selectmen’s Representative member.

The Planning Board typically meets monthly, on the fourth Tuesday, at 7:00 PM at Hampton Falls Town Hall (except for the months of November and December when the Planning Board meets on the third Tuesdays, due to the holidays).
