Town Clerk

As of April 19, 2021, the Town Clerk/Tax Collector's office is open to walk-in service.  We are still offering our drop box service and continue to encourage residents to renew their dog and vehicle registrations using our website. Again, thank you for your patience and understanding of the continued changes in COVID procedures.  Stay safe and helathy in 2021.    We offer several options for your vehicle and dog registrations:

1st option is on our Town website www.hamptonfalls.org under "Motor Vehicles FAQs" or "Dog Licenses". This is for vehicle RENEWALS only. For new or transfer vehicle registrations please see below*.  For new dogs see below**

2nd option is through the mail. Send us your plate numbers and dog/s name/s with your payment in the form of a check payable to the Town of Hampton Falls, we will fill in the amount and make a photocopy for you for your records.

3rd option is to drop off plate numbers and payment/s in our Drop Box to the left of the Town Hall door.  A check made payable to the Town of Hampton Falls.  We will fill in the amount when we process and make a photocopy for your records.

All completed renewals and dog transactions will be mailed back unless requesting to pick up..

*New Vehicle Registration documentation to be dropped in drop box. Drop box is located to the left of the Entrance to Town Hall.

If purchased from a NH dealership documents required:

  • Title application (Town Clerk Copy)
  • Copy of your drivers license(s)
  • Plate choice (Veteran, vanity, etc.)
  • If you would like to transfer your plates from a previous vehicle, we will need the original prior registration
  • Put all items in an envelope with your name and contact information so we may reach you for questions and to let you know when it is complete and ready for pick up

If purchased privately and is a year 2000 or newer documents required:

  • Title completely filled out on the back by seller, with all signatures
  • Copy of your driver’s license(s)
  • Plate choice (Veteran, vanity, etc.)
  • If you would like to transfer your plates from a previous vehicle, we will need the original prior registration.
  • Put all items in an envelope with your name and contact information so we may reach you for questions and to let you know when it is complete and ready for pick up

If purchased privately and is a year 1999 or older documents required:

  • Bill of sale
  • Vin verification (such as sellers prior registration, a title, or a TDMV 19A)
  • TDM19A forms can be found on DMV’s website https://www.nh.gov/safety/divisions/dmv/forms/documents/tdmv19a.pdf
  • Copy of your driver’s license
  • Plate choice (Veteran, vanity, etc.)
  • If you would like to transfer your plates from a previous vehicle, we will need the original prior registration
  • Put all items in an envelope with your name and contact information so we may reach you with any questions

Payment: Please leave a check made payable to the Town of Hampton Falls with your documents. We will fill in the amount and make you a copy of the check. We can also process over the phone with a credit card. There is a 2.95% processing card fee.
