Zoning Board of Adjustment
Duties & Responsibilities
The Zoning Board of Adjustment's duties include reviewing requests for variances and special exceptions from the Zoning Ordinance and hearing appeals of land use related decisions rendered by the Town's administrative officials.
The Board's decisions are guided by the Hampton Falls Zoning Ordinance, NH RSA 674:33, and several decades of NH Supreme Court case law. An excellent guidebook for prospective applicants is The Board of Adjustment in New Hampshire: A Handbook for Local Officials.
The Zoning Board of Adjustment typically meets monthly, on the fourth Thursday, at 7:00 PM at Hampton Falls Town Hall (except for the months of November and December when the Zoning Board of Adjustment meets on the the third Thursdays, due to the holidays).
